Welcome John & Heidi!
We are pleased announce that 117 votes by New Hope members were cast on Sunday and by an overwhelming majority, you voted to approve John Brock as the Senior Pastor of New Hope Church!
John will be meeting with our Board of Directors in the upcoming weeks and we are excited for what God has planned for our church. Look for more information as it becomes available. Please continue to lift up our Church leadership in prayer as we move forward.
God Bless You,
The Pastor Search Team
“As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.” Luke 6:47-48
The Pastor Search Team has been meeting for nearly three months and want you to know how comforted we are to see the church remain in action and in service to our Lord. The classes and small groups continue, as well as missions locally and globally. We also want to thank you for your continued prayer in our task to find a senior pastor.
We, as a congregation, are indeed a mixed sort, and that is how the committee was formed. We are compiled of people who represent both the differences and the similarities of each and every one in the church membership. Our task is not an easy one but it is a mission that we are solely dependent upon God to lead.
It would be pretentious to stand up here and say that given the magnitude of this undertaking, there has been no fear. We have equally shared in the humbling and painful tribulations of this past year.
Proverbs 29:25 says: “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.”
Last week John spoke about the amazing things we can do through Christ when we do not fear. Psalm 34:4 tells us, “I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.”
We come to you today with great news as God has surely answered our prayers. Late in December we were informed that a potential candidate had come forward showing interest. That person of interest is none other than John Brock, who is our founding pastor and beloved coach for 7 years.
Although we know John, we have treated him with the same scrutiny that we would any other candidate. He has undergone a very extensive series of personal and professional questions. Upon the completion of our inquiry and through unified prayer, we are confident that pursuing other candidates would serve no viable purpose.
When asked, “Why do you want to come back John?” He replied, “Treasure is where your heart is and my heart is here at New Hope.” John is genuine, humble and intentional. He is purpose driven and insightfully teaches how to live the life God intended for you.
Our official recommendation is John Brock as senior pastor for New Hope Church. We have put together an information sheet which has a bio of John and lists some upcoming dates you will want to mark on your calendar. There is also a special email address on the sheet for you to send in any questions; or you may write them on the Let’s Connect card over the next few weeks. Please direct all your questions in this manner and do not call the church office. We will be handing out the info sheet at the end of today’s service.
Please plan to attend church on Palm Sunday, March 29th, as John will be our guest speaker and after the second service there will be an informal “Meet, Greet & Eat” with John and his wife Heidi. You will have an opportunity to speak with them individually and enjoy some good fellowship and pizza. On April 19th, there will be a membership vote. – Emily Kloska – Chairman Pastor Search Team

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit. Ephesians 2:19-22
